Showcase Of Women Entrepreneurs Under 30 At Stanford - Tuesday

Jan2015 FBV4 2

It's always great to see diversity at work in Silicon Valley. On Tuesday, January 20 VLAB will present an evening event focused on young women entrepreneurs.

[I wonder why the age limit? Ageism is another aspect of the diversity story that is very real in Silicon Valley.]  Here are the details of the Stanford VLAB event:

This year's panel, to be moderated by Fran Maier, Founder of TRUSTe, will include the following young innovators:

- Alex Meliones, Co-Founder & Chief Creative and Marketing at BitWall, a SaaS that enables digital publishers to generate revenue and engage socially with their readers. After attending many hackathons, Alex and a group of entrepreneurs hosted their own hackathon at Tim Draper's Hero City in November of 2014. They gave out nearly $20,000 in total prizes and made a donation to the Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula.

- Brienne Ghafourifar, Co-Founder at Entefy, a Palo Alto tech startup in the digital communication and artificial intelligence space. Brienne is a 19-year-old Silicon Valley entrepreneur on a mission to radically transform the way technology helps people interact. She set a world record at age 17 by becoming the youngest college graduate to raise $1 million in venture funding; that figure has since grown to more than $5 million.

- Lisa Falzone, CEO at Revel, an iPad POS company. Lisa has led her Silicon Valley startup to profitability in just a year and transformed the "old school" POS ways.

- Nanxi Liu, Co-Founder and CEO of Enplug, a Los Angeles company that builds the industry-leading software for digital displays in malls, restaurants, and retail stores. In college, Nanxi founded Nanoly Bioscience, which develops polymers that enable vaccines to survive without refrigeration. Nanxi is a current board member.

We're reaching out to you to see if you could kindly share this upcoming event with other members in your network. The event is expected to draw 400+ attendees and will be an excellent opportunity to connect with other like-minded disruptive innovators and technologists.
