NYT no longer devoting weekly section to the "little enclave" of Silicon Valley

By Richard Koman for SiliconValleyWatcher.com

Bill Keller, the New York Times executive editor, sent out a memo recently announcing the death of the Times' Circuits section among other changes. In the memo, Keller notes, "Like the technology industry itself, which is no longer concentrated in a little enclave in Silicon Valley, the coverage has already been migrating into the mainstream, including the front page. Circuits will end as a standalone section with the edition of March 24 -- much of it merged into Bizday, and other features distributed to other venues."

Section like Circuits were always a vehicle for advertising, and tech advertising is no longer showing up for the Times or many other papers.
