2.2.07: Romanian president loves Windows, piracy
By Richard Koman - February 2, 2007
The Romanian president Traian Basescu held a press conference with Bill Gates as part of Gates' worldwide Vista Thunder Revue. Observers could be forgiven if they suspected that Borat had kidnapped Basescu and made a guest appearance. We imagine it went something like this:
"Bill Gates, I like you, do you like me? I like you because you make Windows. And we like to steal Windows. Is very nice! When Romanian man have Windows helps him to make sexy with woman. I like!
Real quote: "Piracy helped the young generation discover computers. It set off the development of the IT industry in Romania."
"Now everyone loves Romania! Even Khazakstan is jealous of Romania's manly programming skills. We wish to learn Windows. So we take! Is very good. Thank you Bill Gates!
Real quote: "(Piracy) helped Romanians improve their creative capacity in the IT industry, which has become famous around the world ... Ten years ago, it was an investment in Romania's friendship with Microsoft and with Bill Gates."
"I so happy for Bill Gates, I want him to meet my sister, Windows power user and also No. 3 prostitute in all of Romania.
Bill Gates, you my friend! Give me kiss.
“Wawaweewah!”

Hahaha,
You have a good sense of humour...
But basescu was right saying that piracy helps romanian young people to discover computers. In the 90 years, a medium salary in Romania was 100$, so piracy wasn`t an option...
From this piracy Microsoft benefits: 350 Romanian IT professionals work in redmond at microsoft, and antivirus solutions implemented in Vista is a Romanian Antivirus named RAV. Microsoft buyed the romanian company RAV some years ago.
IT industry generally benefits from this piracy: one of the best antivirus is a romanian antivirus named Bitdefender.
I`m not so pride with this achievements. I think that IT and internet push the people to cultural void. Internet means a kind of illiteration, since the overwhelming majority of young people lost the respect for the library and books. They develop in some kind of a zombie being captivated all day long by videogames.
I was much more pride 20 years ago, when the overwhelming majority of youngsters read Dostoievsky, Cervantes or E.A. Poe...
I think some people don`t really understand the message of Borat. Kazahstan can be YOU TOO ...
bye!

Very nice!
There are few moments in a man's life when you feel sensational, Uaauu..
One of those moments where at the beginning of the meeting between Mr. Bill Gates,
Mr. C. P. Tariceanu Romania's Prime Minister and Mr. T. Basescu President of the country.
Mr. Gates entered into the room filled up to refuse with mass-media people, approached Mr. Tariceanu and presented himself:
"Hello, I am Bill Gates" and shacked hand.
Mr. Tariceanu said:
"Hello"
He felt unnecessary to present himself as he is the Prime Minister of Romania, who does not know that?
As opposed with Mr. Gates, a humble man from an obscure ....
Well, the bottom line is that you are welcome to visit us and being insulted in the same manner as Borat does.
Conclusion. Mr. Koman you are not far from the truth. Not fr at all.
P.S. Long live LINUX! as I am a Linux supporter.
Your truly,
Borat's nephew.
