Talking heads encourage wandering eyes...

Web design guru Jakob Nielsen says :
"Eyetracking data show that users are easily distracted when watching video on websites, especially when the video shows a talking head and is optimized for broadcast rather than online viewing."

Foremski"s take: It just shows how challenging it will be to repurpose content from one screen to another. We live in a three-screen world: TV, PC and pocket screen. Each one demands specific characteristics to be compelling, otherwise wandering eyes lead to wondering what else is on...

Site comment: I tried to find a way to email you or Nick directly but could find a link here or on Nick's site. The comments functionality is a bit problematic. I logged in as a TypeKey user, then made a comment.
The comment system then produced a message that led me to believe that my initial comment hadn't been posted. So I tried again. Lo and behold, when I checked the article page, I had double-posted. You may want to take a look at the "thanks for posting" screen code and adjust it to make it a bit less confusing.
I also noticed that on article pages, the "About the Watcher" links are producing 404s. I don't mean to be critical - I think the site is great. I just know that sometimes when you're running a site it is sometimes difficult to notice little glitches.
