Coinciding with the San Francisco Web 2.0 Summit (November 5th - 7th) the Irish Network San Francisco and Enterprise Ireland are delighted to present a distinguished panel of Web 2.0 technologists, entrepreneurs and thought leaders who will provide their perspective on the exciting world of Web 2.0.
This event requires attendees to pre-register and promises to be both an entertaining and insightful evening offering a unique opportunity to network with fellow professionals from both sides of the Atlantic.
“Web 2.0 In Action!” will include a panel discussion, with questions from the floor and we anticipate a lively discussion.
The distinguished presenters will include:

Registration: "Web 2.0 In Action!" is free to attend but there are a very limited number of spaces available and we anticipate a high demand for these seats. Silicon Valley Rocks! Lineup Revealed...

For the upcoming charity event for schools Silicon Valley Rocks! December 3, there's the usual suspects (Don Clark, Kevin Maney) but also much more:

Band history, information and mp3s will be featured on the Silicon Valley Rocks! blog over the coming weeks. Silicon Valley Rocks! will be emceed by local radio station KFOG host, Annalisa, and will feature a silent auction with a signed guitar, hotel/spa packages, music software, and more! Stay tuned to the blog for information about the party and the cause!

WHO: Over 300 technology professionals and their friends.

WHY: All proceeds for Silicon Valley Rocks! will be donated to support music education in the schools via Music in Schools Today (MuST) -- a long-standing Bay Area non-profit.

TICKETS: Event tickets include entry to the showcase and the after-party featuring the best networking, drinks, and dancing north of San Jose. Ticket prices are $45 until November 17. Tickets can be purchased at http://svrocks.eventbrite.com. Ticket purchases are tax deductible.

Silicon Valley Rocks! Charity Event for Local Schools

This looks fun and it is not in San Jose. Alison Murdock writes:

Join me for the debut of Silicon Valley Rocks! on December 3 at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco.

Silicon Valley Rocks! will be the first music showcase featuring performances from Silicon Valley’s tech community - from VCs and entrepreneurs to bloggers and software developers - to raise money for Music in Schools Today (MuST), a Bay Area non-profit that seeks to rescue school music programs from budget cuts.

The showcase will feature five bands comprised of people you know! You won't believe the musical talent that lurks around computers and term sheets. Stay tuned to the blog for our upcoming announcement of the line-up.

Microsoft Research Roadshow Coming Next Thursday - Anyone Is Welcome - Free!

Microsoft spends billions of dollars on research and development and it has some of the world's foremost experts in a variety of disciplines.

Next week at Microsoft's Silicon Valley campus in Mountain View you can take a look at some of its advanced technologies and products direct from its labs. Unlike prior Microsoft labs events that are open only to the media and analysts, this one is open to all. Bring your kids too!
