Up Coming: Doc Searls Leads First VC Panel On User-Centric Commerce

This looks interesting -- I'm a big fan of Doc Searls -- he'll be moderating a panel of VCs discussing investments around user centric commerce, and the related sectors of privacy and identity, at the Internet Identity Workshop (IIW) at the Computer History Museum on May 8.

I'm told it's the first time ever a VC panel has focused on user-centric business models such as intentcasting.

Doc Searls is an author of Cluetrain Manifesto, and the recently published Intention Economy. He is also the co-founder of the long running IIW conference, along with Phil Windley and Kaliya Hamlin.

The 18th IIW conference runs from May 6 to 8 and SVW readers can claim a 25% discount. There's great networking opportunities at the dinners and sessions.

Doc Searls:

Businesses today tend to herd customers as if they were cattle, but a revolution in personal empowerment is under way--and buying will never be the same again.
