Gates to get his Harvard degree
By Richard Koman - March 23, 2007
Bill Gates will be commencement speaker at Harvard and finally receive his (honorary) degree from Harvard, IDG reports.
Gates arrived at Harvard as a freshman in 1973 and while there got to know Steve Ballmer, Microsoft’s CEO, who lived just down the hall. Gates had already discovered his interest in software, having programmed computers since the age of 13. While at Harvard, Gates helped develop a version of the programming language BASIC for the first microcomputer, the MITS Altair.
He dropped out to found Microsoft.
The only interesting question is what subject Bill will get his degree in. Harvard doesn't announce that choice in advance.

I hope that Gates only ‘helped to develop’ …as it is nothing to be proud of.
I have visited MITS in mid 70s and was given this ‘free’ BASIC on a roll of paper tape. As I remember, it was not a good product and probably had some bugs.
